Tuesday when I picked Alexander up from Connie's, she said he had been coughing in his sleep. Later than night he started feeling bad.
Yesterday morning, he woke up with a fever of 101, and he threw up, so I called the school and told them he was sick. I also called his uncle Jared and cancelled his plans for the day. I got him an appointment with the doctor.
The doctor gave him some antibiotics and told him to take Tylenol and make sure he gets his nebulizer every day.
I went to Wichita Medical Supply, where I have gone since Alexander was diagnosed with ashthma, to get him some new mouthpieces for his nebulizer. They wanted a prescription, which they've never asked for before, except for the first time I went in there. I called Dr. Rao's office and had them send them a fax with the prescription. When I went back, they said they never got the fax, and all but accused me of using my son's nebulizer to snort my own drugs. I went back to the doctor's office and picked up the prescription so I could go somewhere else with it. I took it to Gold Cross and was out in 5 minutes. Way shorter than it took the first time I went to Wichita Medical.
Anyway, Alexander took his medication and Cindy came over to bring some Tylenol. His fever has gone up and down and I'm very worried about him.
I didn't go to work yesterday because he was sick, but I couldn't afford to miss two days. I knew he couldn't go to Connie's if he had a fever, so I had to call Nathan to come watch him so I could work. On the bright side, I did get a dollar raise today at work. That won't solve all my problems, but it will help significantly.
If Alexander's fever doesn't break tonight, I'm going to have to take him to the ER.
