I hung out with my bro and watched movies all night. Here is what I think of them:

"The Good Girl" -- I'm not sure what possessed me to rent this one. Typically I wouldn't choose a movie like this, but for some reason it "grabbed" me. It was a little slow, but basically a good movie. Now that I've seen it, I think Jennifer Anniston deserves much better than "Friends", (although I love "Friends") She is really a very good actress. I've liked her in all the movies I've seen her in. Anyway, this movie quite acurately depicted life in a medium-sized Texas town and the accents weren't bad. It was a love story of sorts but witout the cheese elements. It was about how a lonely, miserable woman can do some fucked up things that at the time seem perfectly sane. Then when she tries to fix her mistakes ends up making them worse. But it did have a happy ending, which I guess is cool. It was labeled as a comedy, but I thought it was more of a drama. It looked more like good comic relief than an actual comedy. The male romantic character, who I haven't seen in anything before, was very cute and a good actor. But his character annoyed me. He was very lovable but his low self esteem issues were terribly annoying and if I knew him in person he'd drive me insane. I wonder if people think that about me? Wake up call?

"Goth" --This was quite possibly the cheesiest movie I've ever seen. It looked like someone wanted to show off their lifestyle and disguise it by trying to add a plot. You can find better acting in the Rider High School Theatre Department. The one exception to the acting was the guy who played Boon. I can see him going somewhere. But the chick who played "Gothe" I thought wasn't sexy enough for the roll. That seems shallow, but the character needed to be really hot to have the effect she did on the other people. It really gave goths a bad name. But I have heard plenty of people actually say, "You call yourself goth?" which has always driven me crazy. In this movie "You call yourself goth?" means "You dont' want to kill people? Then you suck." The scene where the one tiny goth chick kills a room full of frat boys bugged the shit out of me. They all just stood there and let her kill them. None of them fought or tried to stop her. I'm so sure. But according to this movie, I'm 1/3 goth. I follow rule #1 of being goth --Embrace the Darkness.

"Ghost Ship" -- I really liked this movie. It was creepy and fairly realistic for this type of movie. The special effects weren't bad and neither was the acting. The little girl ghost gave me the chills. What is it about child ghosts that is creepier? The opening scene where the passengers are killed made me laugh at first, but then I thought, Could that really happen? God, how morbid. It had a few flaws, but I give it 2 thumbs up.
