It's almost New Orleans around here. The East Side of town has been evacuated. It's driving me mad that so many people I know, including peeps on LJ, have had their homes flooded. Michael and I went to a party at a friend's house last night and drove past our old home. Yeah. It's a good thing we moved. The flooding hasn't reached the house yet, but it's at the end of the street. It's crazy. We stopped at Albertson's and ran into a friend who was going to get drunk because his home had flooded. I feel very lucky to only have standing water in my backyard after so many people have lost everything. We're not completely in the clear yet, though. More rain is expected.

It's worse than I thought it would get. So sad for all the people whose houses have been trashed. I used to live on Van Buren at the end of 7th street. Glad I'm not there now. Hope the rain holds off an no more damage gets done. Did Dr. Lim ever get to his dogs? I hope they have food.

I'm at work and just found out. They finally let him in to get the pets and some clothes. His house is still fine, but the neighborhood is not safe to be in at all. They're staying in a hotel for now.

It's good that they let them in to get the pets. I bet a lot of people are staying in hotels for now. Hope their insurance is footing the bill because they'll be there for a while.
