Could you tell me a bit about Atkins? Do you drink lots of water? how many meals per day? Did you buy special food? Cook...I don't cook

Well, Atkins is high protein, low carb. I do buy low-carb stuff, and you pretty much have to at least heat things up in the microwave, since it's a lot of meat. I drink more water than I used to, but I still don't drink nearly as much as I should. So far this is the only diet I've done that's worked, except for Slim Fast, which worked but boy was I hungry.

Anyay, Atkins is 3 full meals and 3 snacks per day. South Beach is similar to Atkins but a little more lenient. I think it depends mostly on the individual person and what works best with their lifestyle.

cool. thanks. Mom just said over 20 g of carbs & they didn't lose so I'll at least make water/caffine changes until I can get the SB diet book and then I'll just see what happens

Wait! now I'm really confused! Mom (the 2 of you tandem message today- ha)

she just said they use 1/2 & 1/2 in coffee. I thought *no* caffine (I always mess up there & down fall) are my parents cheating or what?

They're cheating. Half & Half isn't allowed on Atkins, nor is coffee. But I cheat with caffeine or I'm afraid I'll fall asleep at my computer at work, and I have when I tried to cut it out. On Atkins, cream is allowed but half and half and milk are not.

Anyway, I'm cheating with caffeine and I've still lost 13 pounds.

I'm not opposed to Christianity either. It's a good concept, but only if you actually practice what you preach! From what I've observed, only a few actually do.

Did you look at South Beach? What's the diff? I'm looking at all these web sites & can't buy the books just to compare...but I'd like to start
