Slept badly last night

Which may have been because I slept til 2:00 pm, if you recall. But anyway, I slept badly in the night, woke up several times. was awake for a long time and as a result of all of this am now rather tired.

But [personal profile] mashfanficchick and I both got up around 1:00ish and puttered around, then had cereal for brunch somewhat after 2:00.

Then we watched another episode of MacGyver, which continues to be silly but fun. When that was over I went and showered and dressed, and by the time I finished it was almost 5:00 and time for me to go to the Bronx for my Al-anon meeting.

I took the subway to Flushing and the 50 bus from there and got to the Bronx by 6:15, so I had time to get my traditional pizza for dinner.

The meeting was small, just me and L, and we cancelled the second meeting so I got to the bus just before 8:00.

Got home before 9:00, and Teamed the FWiB. I had an awful lot of trouble getting Teams to log in on the computer, so we used the phone until I did and then we switched to that, and it worked OK.

That's about all, we talked til a bit after 10:00, and then I started catching up on the internet.

One thing I did was check my Funko order status. It now says the package was lost. Nothing about sending a new one. I will contact them tomorrow.

I also called the Kid, she didn't pick up of course so I texted. Hopefully she'll either call or text back.

I made Facebook contact with Liz M, the very old friend I sent a Christmas card to! She accepted my friend request, haven't heard anything from her yet though.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Fun TV.

3. Found Liz M without even looking, she just popped up on my "you may know" thing.

4. My meetings and the people there.

5. Got back home and everything was OK.

6. Bed soon.

The first day here

Was woken up early by the sound of the work they were doing on the building front entrance, but after they finished, went back to sleep for quite a few hours. Woke up again around 2:00.

Had breakfast, well, brunch really, with [personal profile] mashfanficchick. We had gluten free sourdough bread with cream cheese and lox. Very delicious.

[personal profile] mashfanficchick, having had melatonin the night before, which affected zer very strongly, went back to bed, but I stayed up and puttered on my phone and played solitaire and basically killed time til 7:00 when I Teamed the FWiB on my phone. Teams was working correctly today so that's good.

We talked til almost 8:30, when we got off, and I called Middle Brother, who is fine, but hasn't done anything of note recently.

Then [personal profile] mashfanficchick got up and we had some snacks, and watched this week's episode of Will Trent. That was highly enjoyable.

Then, after some thinking about what we should do next, [personal profile] mashfanficchick suggested we should watch something classic that I had never watched when it was on, that we had discussed some days ago... MacGyver. The original, from 1985, show.

So we watched the pilot episode on Tubi, and although it was sort of silly it was also fun. We had dinner after that, and discussed if we would watch more. I said sure.

So after dinner we watched the second episode on Tubi, which was even sillier than the first, but still a lot of fun.

And then ze decided to go to bed, and I'm borrowing the laptop to do this.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Middle Brother is well.

3. Good TV.

4. TV that is more fun than good.

5. M&Ms, which I've been nibbling on.

6. Days away from home to relax.

Two day visit

Got up this morning at 11:00 and had breakfast and coffee. Then I showered and dressed, and went into Flushing to get my three prescriptions filled. Nothing of particular interest happened on the trip, the rain had stopped and it was grey and damp.

I got back and put in a Shipt order. I got an Easter basket and some candy, and Easter grass for the basket for Middle Brother. Easter isn't until April though so I'll hold off on anything else til later.

I looked at HP's page but decided not to do anything at the moment. Yes I know I need to investigate the computer warranty but not yet.

[personal profile] mashfanficchick called me and told me about a situation with her building that lead us to the conclusion that it would be sensible for me to go over to zer place tonight after my D&D game and spend two nights until Friday rather than going over Thursday. So that's what we arranged.

At 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB and we had very serious technical issues, but, amazingly, caused by the Teams app, rather than my computer. We know this because the problems were on both our computers, and persisted even when I switched to my phone. Bah humbug. We never had these issues with Skype, why'd they have to go and eliminate it?

Anyway, at 8:00 I went to my D&D game, and, also amazingly, Discord worked fine, though I did keep my camera off so as to not put any more stress on it. We fought orcs and goblins, and got accused of passing counterfeit gold pieces.

Then I fed the pets and gave Oreo a day extra, and then Ubered here. We had dinner, and hung out for awhile and then I borrowed this laptop and started here.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Got my meds.

3. Shipt.

4. My gaming group.

5. The computer worked for the game.

6. Visit with a friend.

No joy from Best Buy

I am writing this on the same computer so hopefully it'll keep working.

I got up at 9:30 this morning, after being woken up by Duane Reade calling to remind me I had prescriptions to pick up, my psychiatric meds. That was at a bit after 9 and I lay in bed awhile then decided to get up.

I had breakfast and coffee. Then I looked into why, when I requested a refill of my cholesterol med on the 10th, I hadn't heard anything about it. I called the office, the refill was still listed as pending and the woman I spoke to said she'd send a reminder to my doctor.

Then I took a shower and washed my hair, and then I called [personal profile] mashfanficchick about the Best Buy trip. We decided to meet at 2:30 so I puttered online an moved two more things to the external hard drive til 1:30 when I packed up the computer and left.

It's Lunar New Year (Happy New Year to anyone celebrating) so I was expecting it to be very busy and crowded in Flushing, but it wasn't actually. I took the 20 bus to the 48 and then met [personal profile] mashfanficchick at Dunkin' Donuts. While I was waiting I had a very interesting espresso drink, mocha and raspberry, and a Boston Cream donut. Very tasty.

So when [personal profile] mashfanficchick got there we did lunch at the Japanese place, their three roll sushi special as usual. Then we heaed to Best Buy by bus.

Got there pretty quick, but as I said, no joy. I didn't buy their protection plan, and I passed the return period in September. So I have to try with HP. I will start looking into that tomorrow.

So after that we went to Aldi, where I got a thing of port wine cheese spread, and then we got fancy tea at Gong Cha.

I had gotten a text from Duane Reade that my other prescription was no ready, and I was of two minds if I should stop on the way home and pick up everything. But it was late, so I just took the bus all the way home. I'm planning on going tomorrow morning. Or early afternoon.

I got home just in time to set up the computer and, with trepidation, try Teaming the FWiB. To our joy, it worked this time.

Then my Al-anon meeting by Zoom, I was very worried about, after the debacles on Saturday and Sunday, but that worked out fine too.

So after that i had a little of the port wine cheese, and went to the bedroom to play solitaire til pet feeding time.

So that was the day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The computer worked today.

3. Sushi.

4. [personal profile] mashfanficchick

5. Got the cholesterol med done.

6. Warmer weather.

Presidents Day

No one is quite sure what President's Day is for, but whatever, it was today. I went back to sleep after the alarm went off and slept til 11:30, but then I got up and had breakfast an coffee.

I called [personal profile] mashfanficchick to see if there was anything going on today, no, but we have decided, after the debacle yesterday trying to Zoom on this computer, we're going to Best Buy tomorrow and see what can be done. It's still under warranty, I have ha it less than a year, so...

There is some good news though, I hear from Funko, they are going to send me another Stephen Colbert Pop to replace the one that went missing.

I copied my Valentine's Starsky and Hutch story to the external drive, and a few other things, I don't think there's anything on the computer I can't stand to lose.

And the computer really has to go. I tried Teaming the FWiB tonight, and it was another debacle. We ended up Teaming on my phone, and that was running out of power. It was a mess.

[personal profile] mashfanficchick called me back before that. and we discussed various things.

The Bard Board of Trustees met today to discuss the Leon Botstein situation. The discussion on the Bard in the 80s Facebook group has been intense. It's all very distressing.

That's all. I just fed the pets.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. [personal profile] mashfanficchick

3. Funko is replacing my missing Pop.

4. The information about buying the computer is in my Best Buy account.

5. I can Team on my phone.

6. My days at Bard.

Frustrating Sunday

Got up at 10:00, had breakfast and coffee. Called [personal profile] mashfanficchick, ze said ze'd call back later. Ze texted later, we may do something tomorrow. I went to the Starsky and Hutch Creative Work session.

Or tried to. To make a long, long sad story short, my computer completely f-ed up. I could not get it to work in Zoom. It froze up and kicked me out, refused to load... you name it, it did it. I resorted to Zooming on my phone. Had to plug it in to the computer to keep the battery from dying.

I am worried now about Zooming for my Al-anon meeting on Tuesday. I may have to use my phone for that too. This is untenable. I am going to have to get a new computer, and this one is less than a year old.

The Kid called while I was restarting the computer at one point, so we talked a bit. I wished her hppy Valentine's Day.

The Zoom ended at 6:00ish, and I was worried about Teaming the FWiB at 7:00, but surprisingly the Team worked fine. We talked for nearly two hours, with a few minutes pause while I called Middle Brother at 8:30. He is fne, got my valentine, and had a party for Valentine's Day. And is excited that tomorrow is Presidents Day and there's no school.

After I got off with the FWiB I had dinner and went to the bedroom to play solitaire until pet feeding time. And that was the day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. The Starsky and Hutch fandom.

3. The Kid called.

4. Middle Brother is well and happy.

5. I put a post on the Starsky and Hutch Facebook group asking about a vid and it was found!

6. The computer is working now.

Valentine's Day

Got up this morning at 9:00 and had breakfast and coffee, showered and dressed, and went to my Al-anon meeting. Got lucky with the bus, there was a 28 that got there almost immediately after I got to the stop, so that was nice, but it's not as cold as it's been, so it wouldn't have been bad waiting anyway.

The meeting was very good. I went to the diner afterward, getting a ride with S as usual. Since it was Valentine's Day I treated myself to a toasted bagel with lox and cream cheese, which was yummy.

Then I took the bus home and went to the Starsky and Hutch chat. Or tried to. The computer was acting horribly with the Zoom, I had to restart the computer once, and got kicked out of the Zoom several times. Very very frustrating. Especially since we were watching vids, and I missed a bunch of them.

After that debacle, I am pleased to say that Teaming the FWiB went fairly well, though there were a few times he had to repeat things because the computer glitched. We talked for an hour and a half.

I called the Kid after that but she didn't pick up. I didn't expect her to really, I'm sure she's busy with her boyfriend. I left a text asking her to call so I can wish her Happy Valentine's Day. I hope she does.

Then I had dinner, and then went to the bedroom and called [personal profile] mashfanficchick to wish zer a Happy Valentine's Day and ask if there was anything going to tomorrow. Probably not but we'll see.

Last night after I poste here, I posted my Valentine's story on fanfiction.net, AO3, and the Starsky and Hutch archive. It's already getting good responses.

For those interested, it's here on ffnet: First Valentine's Day

and here of AO3: First Valentine's Day

Some sad news, I have become aware that someone on my Dreamwidth flist died on Feb 2nd. [personal profile] spikedluv. I enjoyed reading her posts and will miss her. Her obituary is in the comments to her last entry; it doesn't say what the cause of death was.

Anyway, aside from that, all is well here. Christie the Turtle is eating a little better than she was, so I feel better about that.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. My meetings and the people there.

3. The Starsky and Hutch fandom.

4. My story is doing well.

5. Christie is eating better.

Didn't post yesterday

So I will catch up now.

Yesterday I got up at 10:00 and after breakfast and coffee and showering and dressing and packing I went over to [personal profile] mashfanficchick's to watch our shows. Which we did, we watched the two episodes of Will Trent we were behind, and then I Teamed the FWiB from my phone.

Then we started watching Thr Lincoln Lawyer, and, well, we didn't stop. There were 10 episodes in the season, which all dropped together, and we watched them all. All night. We did stop for dinner (we had Indian food for lunch, earlier) but aside from that we watched straight through til the end. We finished around 8:00 am.

So then we ha breakfast, and went to bed. And slept all day. Literally. I got up at 5:00 and got showered and dressed, and went to my meeting, I was a little late of course, and I didn't eat.

The meeting was very good though small, and I only had to wait 15 minutes for the bus unlike last week.

Got home and Teamed the FWiB. Then I had dinner. And that was the last two days.

My Funko Pop has not shown up, though. I'm really annoyed.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Good TV.

3. My meetings and the people there.

4. Didn't have to wait almost an hour for the bus.

5. Sleeping late.

6. Warm apartment.

Game night

I got up at 7:00, had breakfast, and went back to bed until 10:00, when I got up and had coffee.

Then I went into my Valentine's Day story and did some additional writing and editing. And now it is done. I have decided to post it Friday since I won't really have time Saturday, and that way it can be read on Valentine's Day.

Then I took a shower and dressed, on the off chance that I'd be seeing [personal profile] mashfanficchick and RK, which was a possibility that didn't happen. But it feels good to be clean and dressed anyway.

By 5:00 I had still not gotten my Stephen Colbert Pop, so I wrote back again... and got precisely the same response, word for word. Obviously a preset response disguised as a real person. I am pissed. Nothing to do but wait a little longer.

At 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB. We talked til 8:00 when I got off to go to my game night.

The Discord worked pretty well. I close out everything but Discord and don't turn my camera on and it works pretty well most of the time. The game was quite fun. We're playing an early version of D&D, The caves of Chaos module. I got bitten by a giant centipede and will be poisoned for 10 game days.

After the game ended at 10:00 I fed the pets. I am quite worried about Christie the Turtle. She is not eating again. And not being very active. I would think about taking her to a vet if it wasn't so cold out.

Anyway I had dinner and then called [personal profile] mashfanficchick about tomorrow. I'll be going over in the afternoon and we'll watch The Lincoln Lawyer. Probably Will Trent too.

The controversy over Leon Botstein rages on the Bard in the 80s Facebook page, where I'm a member. Leon put out a letter through the Alumni association to explain his side of things. I thought it was fairly reasonable but others did not. I don't know. It's just so upsetting and demoralizing.

Anyway, that's the day.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. My gaming group.

3. Improved and finished the story.

4. Warm apartment.

5. Getting out tomorrow.

6. The Discord worked pretty well.

Finished a story!

I slept again to almost 12:00, then got up and had breakfast and coffee.

Then after that I worked on the Starsky and hutch valentine's Day story. I worked on it basically all day, and by some time after 6:oo I had finished it. Except for a title, and I'd like to come up with a snappier last line than it has. But aside from that it is done. I will look at it again tomorrow and edit it as needed, and be ready to post it on Valentine's Day.

At 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB. We had some odd technical difficulty this time, but we worked it out.

Got off in time to have my Al-anon meeting by Zoom at 8:00. It was quite good. S was there but not M, so as always when she's not there I worry about her.

After the meeting I had dinner, and then went to the bedroom to lay down and play solitaire.

My Stephen Colbert Pop has still not arrived. I am annoyed.

The Kid texted me with good news about Carmina (her cat), so I'm happy about that.

And that's about all today.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Finished the story.

3. Carmina will not need daily medication.

4. My meetings and the people there.

5. The snow outside is melting.

6. The Kid.

Update on legal cases: one new victory! :) One new restriction :(

Back in August of 2025, we announced a temporary block on account creation for users under the age of 18 from the state of Tennessee, due to the court in Netchoice's challenge to the law (which we're a part of!) refusing to prevent the law from being enforced while the lawsuit plays out. Today, I am sad to announce that we've had to add South Carolina to that list. When creating an account, you will now be asked if you're a resident of Tennessee or South Carolina. If you are, and your birthdate shows you're under 18, you won't be able to create an account.

We're very sorry to have to do this, and especially on such short notice. The reason for it: on Friday, South Carolina governor Henry McMaster signed the South Carolina Age-Appropriate Design Code Act into law, with an effective date of immediately. The law is so incredibly poorly written it took us several days to even figure out what the hell South Carolina wants us to do and whether or not we're covered by it. We're still not entirely 100% sure about the former, but in regards to the latter, we're pretty sure the fact we use Google Analytics on some site pages (for OS/platform/browser capability analysis) means we will be covered by the law. Thankfully, the law does not mandate a specific form of age verification, unlike many of the other state laws we're fighting, so we're likewise pretty sure that just stopping people under 18 from creating an account will be enough to comply without performing intrusive and privacy-invasive third-party age verification. We think. Maybe. (It's a really, really badly written law. I don't know whether they intended to write it in a way that means officers of the company can potentially be sentenced to jail time for violating it, but that's certainly one possible way to read it.)

Netchoice filed their lawsuit against SC over the law as I was working on making this change and writing this news post -- so recently it's not even showing up in RECAP yet for me to link y'all to! -- but here's the complaint as filed in the lawsuit, Netchoice v Wilson. Please note that I didn't even have to write the declaration yet (although I will be): we are cited in the complaint itself with a link to our August news post as evidence of why these laws burden small websites and create legal uncertainty that causes a chilling effect on speech. \o/

In fact, that's the victory: in December, the judge ruled in favor of Netchoice in Netchoice v Murrill, the lawsuit over Louisiana's age-verification law Act 456, finding (once again) that requiring age verification to access social media is unconstitutional. Judge deGravelles' ruling was not simply a preliminary injunction: this was a final, dispositive ruling stating clearly and unambiguously "Louisiana Revised Statutes §§51:1751–1754 violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, as incorporated by the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution", as well as awarding Netchoice their costs and attorney's fees for bringing the lawsuit. We didn't provide a declaration in that one, because Act 456, may it rot in hell, had a total registered user threshold we don't meet. That didn't stop Netchoice's lawyers from pointing out that we were forced to block service to Mississippi and restrict registration in Tennessee (pointing, again, to that news post), and Judge deGravelles found our example so compelling that we are cited twice in his ruling, thus marking the first time we've helped to get one of these laws enjoined or overturned just by existing. I think that's a new career high point for me.

I need to find an afternoon to sit down and write an update for [site community profile] dw_advocacy highlighting everything that's going on (and what stage the lawsuits are in), because folks who know there's Some Shenanigans afoot in their state keep asking us whether we're going to have to put any restrictions on their states. I'll repeat my promise to you all: we will fight every state attempt to impose mandatory age verification and deanonymization on our users as hard as we possibly can, and we will keep actions like this to the clear cases where there's no doubt that we have to take action in order to prevent liability.

In cases like SC, where the law takes immediate effect, or like TN and MS, where the district court declines to issue a temporary injunction or the district court issues a temporary injunction and the appellate court overturns it, we may need to take some steps to limit our potential liability: when that happens, we'll tell you what we're doing as fast as we possibly can. (Sometimes it takes a little while for us to figure out the exact implications of a newly passed law or run the risk assessment on a law that the courts declined to enjoin. Netchoice's lawyers are excellent, but they're Netchoice's lawyers, not ours: we have to figure out our obligations ourselves. I am so very thankful that even though we are poor in money, we are very rich in friends, and we have a wide range of people we can go to for help.)

In cases where Netchoice filed the lawsuit before the law's effective date, there's a pending motion for a preliminary injunction, the court hasn't ruled on the motion yet, and we're specifically named in the motion for preliminary injunction as a Netchoice member the law would apply to, we generally evaluate that the risk is low enough we can wait and see what the judge decides. (Right now, for instance, that's Netchoice v Jones, formerly Netchoice v Miyares, mentioned in our December news post: the judge has not yet ruled on the motion for preliminary injunction.) If the judge grants the injunction, we won't need to do anything, because the state will be prevented from enforcing the law. If the judge doesn't grant the injunction, we'll figure out what we need to do then, and we'll let you know as soon as we know.

I know it's frustrating for people to not know what's going to happen! Believe me, it's just as frustrating for us: you would not believe how much of my time is taken up by tracking all of this. I keep trying to find time to update [site community profile] dw_advocacy so people know the status of all the various lawsuits (and what actions we've taken in response), but every time I think I might have a second, something else happens like this SC law and I have to scramble to figure out what we need to do. We will continue to update [site community profile] dw_news whenever we do have to take an action that restricts any of our users, though, as soon as something happens that may make us have to take an action, and we will give you as much warning as we possibly can. It is absolutely ridiculous that we still have to have this fight, but we're going to keep fighting it for as long as we have to and as hard as we need to.

I look forward to the day we can lift the restrictions on Mississippi, Tennessee, and now South Carolina, and I apologize again to our users (and to the people who temporarily aren't able to become our users) from those states.

I got things done today!

Though I started by once again sleeping til 12:00. But then I got up and had breakfast and coffee.

Then I did what I am very proud of. I got the printer working again. Before I went to Arisia I tried printing out my to do list and discovered the computer wasn't recognizing the (wireless) printer. I had no time then to play with it so I let it be, and I hadn't done anything about it since.

But today I fiddled with it and discovered that somehow something called the MP driver had gotten uninstalled or something. Then I had to find the MP driver (not the printer driver, mind you!) and install it. Allow me to say the Canon website was only marginally helpful. Yes the drivers were there to download... but difficult to locate that MP driver. I did though and got the printer working.

Then I added water to the turtle tank. And then I cleaned the cat pan.

Then I tossed on some clothes (sweat pants and my thermal shirt) and took the dirty kitty litter and the two Valentines for Middle Brother and the Kid, and ventured out into the cold. It's actually warmed up a bit but still was below freezing.

Anyway, I took the litter to the garbage, and walked around the block, and to the mailbox and mailed the Valentines. So they should arrive before Saturday I hope.

Then I had something to eat. And I went to the bedroom and lay down for awhile and played solitaire on my phone.

Meanwhile my limited edition Stephen Colbert Funko Pop has not yet been delivered, although the tracking said it was out for delivery yesterday. So I looked up how to contact Funko and I sent them a message.

Then I Teamed the FWiB. We were going along fine, over an hour, when the Teams crashed and kicked me out. We got back on, but it was annoying. Don't know if it was Teams, or my wretched computer.

The Funko people answered! They said it was normal to have a delivery delay and I should wait a few days before panicking. So I will wait.

Then I had dinner, a Lean Cuisine frozen pizza for World Pizza Day. Tasty. Then I went to the bedroom again, and played on the phone til pet feeding time.

And so I got some stuff done today.

Gratitude List:

1. The FWiB.

2. Got the printer working without too much trouble.

3. Got the Valentines out.

4. Heard back from Funko.

5. Have Samsung Health working on my phone now to count steps.

6. Pizza.

Superb Owl Day

That's what I now call the Superbowl...

Anyway, I woke up at 10:00, and today made the deliberate decision to go back to sleep til 12:00. Then I got up and ha breakfast and coffee, and at 1:30 went to the Starsky and Hutch Creative Work session and chat.

We had a really nice time chatting til somewhat after 6:00, and I got a good bit of writing done for a change.

Then at 7:00 I Teamed the FWiB and we talked til almost 9:00. We were interrupted twice, once when I went to answer the door when someone buzzed, because I am expecting the delivery of my limited edition Stephen Colbert Funko Pop, which hasn't come yet. And once at 8:30 to call Middle Brother.

Middle Brother is fine, he went to a movie yesterday, he doesn't know what it wasm but he enjoyed it and the large popcorn and Pepsi he had.

After we got off I had dinner, and then went to the bedroom where I called [personal profile] mashfanficchick. We talked for awhile, ze is still at zer friend's place catsitting, nothing much going on.

As to the the Superbowl, I am somewhat glad to see that the Seahawks seem to be trouncing the Patriots, because the owner of the Patriots is a Trump supporter and gave large amounts of money to him, so f him. But aside from that, I don't really care.

Gratitude List:

Very cold Saturday

I got up this morning at 9:00 and had breakfast and coffee. Then I showered and dressed, in one of my thermal shirts with my warm sweater, instead of my usual tee shirt with sweater. Because it is cold out! Very, very cold.

So I headed toward my meeting, and got lucky that a bus was there almost immediately so I didn't have to wait in the chill.

The meeting was very good, and afterward we went to the diner as usual. I got a ride from S as usual.

Going home, again I got lucky and didn't have to wait long for a bus. I got off at Northern Blvd to transfer to the 12, an noticed that there's a CVS where the Party City used to be, across the street. So I went over and bought Valentines for the Kid, and Middle Brother. There was such a small section of Valentines that I was startled. I'm used to huge sections of Valentines, with cards for every member of your family. But there were precious few daughter cards, and none for brother, so I had to make do with a generic one. At least I found a reasonable one for the Kid.

Anyway, I paid and went to the bus top, just missed a 12, but one came in about 8 minutes after so I was OK.

Got off at Parsons and had to walk from there as usual, it was unpleasant. Very windy. Very, very cold.

Got home safely, and put in a Shipt order from my phone while logging in to the computer to go to the Starsky and Hutch chat. The chat was, as always, lots of fun. The Shipt order this time was complete.

We talked until a little after 7:00. Then I Teamed the FWiB. Fun as always.

*sigh* I learned today about Leon Botstein's involvement with Epstein. it was a horrible shock to me, I felt heart sick. As the president of my alma mater, he was an integral part of my college years, which were, arguably the best years of my life. I could go on for pages about what Bard meant to me, but I won't. Suffice it to say, I feel like I've been poisoned. And worried about the future of Bard now this has come out. Leon couldn't go on being president too much longer anyway, it's been 50 years, and he's old now, but what will happen to Bard when he's gone?

Enough of that. I just finished dinner, made out the Valentines, addressed and stamped them, and fed the pets. I called [personal profile] mashfanficchick to see if ze was doing anything for the Superbowl tomorrow, ze's not. And after I finish here I shall go to bed.
