I just went to my first rehearsal for Oratorio Chorus in about a year. At Christmas time, we will be performing Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols". I performed this piece well over 10 years ago when Dr. White was still the director, and I loved it. I hope all of you locals will go to the concert in December because it is a very beautiful work, and I think it has something for everyone. Its theme is religious, since it is basically the Christmas story, the text is in Middle English, and the style is very Medieval. I hope I can talk at least some of you into going to hear it. I'll give more details when the time is closer.
