Another one for the Pet Peeve Department

In the midst of Halloween discussions at work, I am royally annoyed at how many people say "punkins" instead of "pumpkins". I know we're in North Texas here, but fuck!

Punkins? hehehehe...you should hear the bad English over here...it is amazing! And mispronunciations, sheezzzz...oh I could go on and on.

My only issue with British English is that some put Rs where they don't belong. Like calling me "Lisar".

I probably have one of the strongest North Texan accents you're going to hear, but I do manage to pronounce words properly. Makes me wonder about all these people who don't really have the accent yet say things like punkin and bob wire and pitcher (when they mean picture) and so on.

Heh. Ever heard anyone say they want "hafe" a cup of coffee? Having the accent is one thing, but pronouncing things should not be so difficult. It all drives me nuts.
